A daughter of House Westerling of the Crag, widowed young of Lord Alyn Tarbeck and brought to bed of his posthumous son before the iron mood of Maegor I Targaryen turned upon her. In 47 AC she was one of the three Black Brides the king wed in a single torchlit ceremony, chosen for their proven fertility — Lady Elinor Costayne newly widowed by his Kingsguard, Princess Rhaena Targaryen widowed by his own sword, and Jeyne the youngest of widows brought up from the westerlands with her infant son held hostage at the altar. She quickened by the king within the year, but the babe came three months before its time: another of the stillborn monstrosities the realm had come to whisper were the only fruit Maegor's seed would bear, and the labour she could not survive carried her down with it. Her death was reckoned by maesters thereafter the last of the king's hopes for an heir.
