Portrait of Raymund Connington

Raymund Connington

Born

Younger brother and heir to Ser Ronnet Red Ronnet Connington of the Knight of Griffin's Roost, born of his uncle Lord Ronald Connington's house and kept at the Roost while his elder brother rode out with the king's host to the Riverlands. He was at the keep with his sister Alynne and their bastard nephew Ronald Storm when his great-uncle Lord Jon Connington and the Golden Company came up the cliffside one night out of A Dance with Dragons and took the gate before the household could rise. Jon set the three young Conningtons under guard in the west tower for their use as hostages should Red Ronnet attempt to bring back the Roost by force, and that night Raymund and his cousins were the long-lost lord's guests at his victory feast in the great hall — no harm will come to any of you, the old exile told them, unless Red Ronnet proves an utter fool — until young Ronald Storm spoke up to say that his father would slay them all, at which Lord Jon set the children back into their cells.
