Valaena Velaryon (Valaena Targaryen)

A daughter of House Velaryon of Driftmark born at the close of the Century of Blood, herself half a Targaryen by a mother of that house and of pure dragonlord blood by both sides — kin to Lord Daemon Velaryon, who would in time serve her son as the first master of ships of the Iron Throne. She was wed in time to Lord Aerion Targaryen of Dragonstone, the last lord of the rock before it became a throne, and gave him three children whose names are written across every history of the Seven Kingdoms after: Visenya the eldest, Aegon her brother and husband, and Rhaenys their younger sister. Through her the silver-gold of Valyria poured doubled into the dragon-king's house, and the joined blood she gave her son carried House Targaryen through every generation that ruled after his Conquest.
