Third of the surviving Greyjoy brothers, broad and slow of word, the Lord Captain of the Iron Fleet and master of the Iron Victory. Where Balon was cunning and Euron is mad, Victarion is honest in the ironborn fashion: he keeps the Old Way, prays to the Drowned God, and has killed every man he was asked to kill. He commanded the Iron Fleet at Fair Isle during the Greyjoy Rebellion, where Stannis Baratheon broke it on the rocks, and has never quite forgiven himself for the loss.
Three wives he has taken in his life; the third he beat to death with mailed fists after Euron got her with child, an act Balon judged was his right but for which Aeron could find him no easy absolution. At the kingsmoot of 299 AC he claimed his father's crown and lost it to the Crow's Eye; he now sails the Iron Fleet east through the Stepstones to fetch the dragons of Daenerys Targaryen back to Pyke in Euron's name, though what he means to do with them when he finds them is between Victarion and his god.
